Colombian Ministry of Tourism adopts the ICOMOS Cultural Tourism Charter
At the Encuentro Nacional: Turismo Cultural y Turismo Arqueológico held from June 25-28, 2024 in San Agustin, Colombia, Arturo Bravo, Vice Minister of Tourism of Colombia announced the adoption of the ICOMOS Cultural Tourism Charter by the Colombian Government through its Ministry of Tourism, linked to their goal to anchor national tourism on the rich and diverse culture of the country. He also presented a publication based on the Charter.
At the meeting ICTC Vice President presented "Protección del patrimonio cultural y resiliencia de las comunidades mediante una gestión responsable y sostenible del turismo" (Protection of the cultural heritage and resiliency of the communities through a responsible and sustainable tourism management) focused on the applicability of the Charter and the role of ICOMOS ICTC (see video below).
